restrictions?

I WAS GOING THROUGH SOME OF MY PREVIOUS POSTS LAST NIGHT AND CAME UPON ONE WHERE I WROTE ABOUT WHAT I WANTED FOR MY MAGAZINE. I WROTE THIS ON JULY 9TH. A LOT OF THINGS HAVE CHANGED SINCE THEN AND I'VE GROWN STRONGER IN MY SENSE OF WHO I AM. A FRIEND OF MINE SUGGESTED THAT I 'REVISE' MY DESCRIPTION OF MY MAGAZINE. SO HERE IT IS:

What would this world be like if every media source was ran by and focused on teenagers? OK, well maybe not every, but how about at least one? What would it be called?… Think no longer, look no further. It is “Restrictions?” Here to show that in the life of a teenager there is no such thing as restrictions. Bringing forth the attitude of ‘I can do anything, go anywhere, be anyone.’

Ever get tired of reading magazines that don’t even begin to discuss the real issues that teenagers face? Well, I do. Or how about realising that the cute shirt on that model costs only $395?!

I want to put forth a strong effort in my life to deal with real teen issues and help teens everywhere see and feel that they are not alone! I probably will be far out of my teen years once I am on solid ground with this, but I vow to never forget my teen years.

I’ve always personally enjoyed reading articles, movie reviews, poems, and such that were by teens for teens. You don’t really see this in ‘hard-copy’ anymore. Always seem to be on the Internet only. Or testimonies. Reading another teenager’s own words about the struggles they have gone through and seeing that he or she has feel my pain has never seized to lift my spirits.

Throughout my teen years I have spoken with many people who agree with me on the fact that our generation, our whole world has become too materialistic. Not to say that this magazine won’t have the least bit of materialism – you can’t prevent the inevitable – but that won’t be its sole purpose. Rather, it’s purpose and goal will be to discuss and deal with everyday issues in everyday ways and ‘Hollywood-ise’ them. A realistic point of view is one of the main goals. You can’t be real about serious issues – like suicide, drinking & drugs, friends & family – when you’re trying to glaze and glamorise them!

Last, but not least, I am not willing to sit back and let another magazine hit the shelf that is filled with slutty advertisements (not to mention any names *cough* Guess) and out-of-range, unrealistic ideas. What teenager needs to flip through a magazine and read b.s. about how to write a personal ad or “205 ways to get a guy to notice you”. Can society get anymore uncreative and pathetic than that?! Or how about braless stick figures advertising over priced cloths?

This is going to be for real teens, about real teens. Not for real teens about over-popularised airbrushed celebrities.

Hope you’re all with me on this one because we need to start a revival!!

Lately... well, lately I've been pretty 'to-myself'.

Have you ever noticed how in life things happen so quickly? It's frustrating how that is.

Or have you ever realized that you don't realize how much you really love someone until they're gone?

Today's going to be a 'getting-stuff-out' post. My brother recentely started dating one of my good friends. Well, someone who WAS a good friend... I hadn't seen her since they started dating and then tonight she came home with him. I was sitting on the couch. I said 'hi' to her and she totally ignored me. Just walked straight into his room. And when they left an hour or so later she once again ignored me. Ouch. What did I do???

Why is it that when everything seems to be going great life just turns around and slaps you in the face?!

But, now for a more positive note:
16 sleeps to the Linkin Park concert
48 days 'till my EIGHTEENTH birthday
and 131 days 'til grad

It feels like my life is getting ready to begin!!!!!!!
